Historic Baseball Games
Every Sat & Sun from June 9-24, July 7 - August 5 and August 18-19, 2012 (1:30pm)
Call us old-fashioned. But we think of our baseball games – played by the 1867 rules – as Real Baseball. No cussing. No spitting. No millionaire players. Just baseball. We’ve got pitchers, batters, home runs and plenty of thrill-a-minute action. But there are differences. Our grandstand is a grassy hillside shaded by dozens of massive trees. We have live 19th-century music. And it’s free with your Greenfield Village admission.

Other than that, you might just mistake us for the big leagues.

August 18 - 19, 2012
In cooperation with the First Regiment Volunteer Infantry, The Henry Ford is happy to announce its first War of 1812 Muster in Greenfield Village. The presentation will be a typical Militia Muster from the 1811-1815 period. These “citizen soldiers” were considered the bulk-work of the nation’s defense rather than a small standing army. These musters became an important part of the early Republic’s life and took place in almost every populated town and city. Frequently these events involved the entire community and included trade, politics and social events.

The Porches & Parlors District of Greenfield Village will be alive with citizen soldiers, craftsmen, merchants and a host of ladies and gentlemen, all dressed in period dress from the War of 1812. Learn firsthand about life in America during the early republic.
