War of 1812 Flag Ceremony at The Henry Ford
June 18, 2012 (10am)
War of 1812 Fifteen-Star Flag Raising Ceremony
The Henry Ford is commemorating the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 with a special flag raising ceremony on the lawn of Henry Ford Museum on Monday, June 18. The ceremony begins at 10 am and is part of the State of Michigan’s War of 1812 Commission’s Fifteen-Star Flag Raising initiative.

The flag raising is one of several important bicentennial events taking place during the next several years to observe the War of 1812. The Henry Ford will fly an 8-foot by 12-foot 15-star flag over the Independence Hall Clocktower at Henry Ford Museum and a smaller one in Greenfield Village at the Phoenixville Post Office on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17. The 15-star flags will also fly during the War of 1812 Muster weekends and on other key bicentennial dates.
